Temporary Installation
Light Years, Parsons School of Design, NY
There is something about the way many small objects together can create an interplay of light, shade and volume which is entirely another world from the original object. It’s a mystery and wonder, even as at the same time, the original object can still be made out.
As part of the Light Space Art class installation in 2015, small wooden dowels were placed into existing holes in wooden wall panels. The undulating form and variations in density create an organic form that emerges out of the walls. Rigid pieces of material become soft and mossy, asking you to reach out and touch.
